Luis Alonso Falcón has been appointed as the new Director of Strategy and Planning for Walmart Mexico and Central America. Falcón is an alumnus of the MBA program at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). His education is further complemented by studies in International Management at Vanderbilt University - Owen Graduate School of Management, in addition to a solid foundation in Civil Engineering from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional.
Luis Alonso Falcón has held key roles in global companies. Prior to joining Walmart, he worked at McKinsey & Company as an Engagement Manager and Associate, leading strategic projects across various sectors for three years. Additionally, at BBVA, he held leadership positions in transformation and data, managing key optimization and process initiatives both in Mexico and Peru.
Before that, Falcón made significant contributions to the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), where he held technical and managerial roles such as Maintenance Supervisor, HSE Manager, and Production Superintendent, accumulating four years of experience in operational management and supervising large-scale technical projects.
He also worked as a Research Assistant at the ITAM Center for Competitiveness Studies, where he focused on analyzing policies and strategies aimed at improving business competitiveness.
With his outstanding track record and academic background, Luis Alonso Falcón brings a unique combination of technical expertise, strategic vision, and business leadership, which will be key to strengthening Walmart Mexico and Central America's position in the market and driving innovation in its operations.
