The 2024-2025 cohort of the Americas MBA, a prestigious graduate program designed to shape executives with a global vision, is enjoying an enriching residency in Mexico from January 24 to February 1, 2025. Organized by ITAM (Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México), this stage combines international business training with unique cultural and professional experiences in one of the most dynamic countries in the Americas.
Over the weekend, participants immersed themselves in the cultural, historical, and gastronomic richness of Mexico. On Friday evening, they attended a gathering at the historic Antigua Hacienda de Tlalpan, a 19th-century landmark that provided an ideal setting for networking and camaraderie among attendees.
On Sunday, students from the four institutions that make up the program—Vanderbilt University, FIA Business School, Simon Fraser University, and ITAM—visited the pyramid complex of Teotihuacán. This tour allowed them not only to admire the grandeur of this ancient Mesoamerican city but also to reflect on its influence on modern urban planning.
Teotihuacán, with its axial and monumental layout, has inspired iconic urban projects such as the National Mall in Washington, D.C., and Brasília, the capital of Brazil.
The spatial and symbolic organization of these modern cities reflects the sophistication and enduring legacy of the ancient metropolis, which seamlessly integrated architecture, cosmology, and social organization.
The visit to Teotihuacán reinforced how ancient civilizations have shaped urban spaces that transcend mere functionality to become profound cultural expressions.
This unique experience enriched the participants’ education, further establishing the Americas MBA as a program that blends academic excellence with transformative experiences.
